To be quite clear, another stereotypical career politician-burecrat with little-to-no real-world experience is the last thing this region needs. This is exactly the type of creative, forward-thinking approach we need throughout Upstate New York and across the 113th Assembly District in order to revitalize our Main Streets and downtowns, thus helping to spur economic development and create new jobs. In the early 2000s, as director of the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation, Carrie Woerner played a major role in helping to revitalize this once struggling neighborhood into a hub of shops, boutiques and cafes. The Beekman Street Arts District in Saratoga Springs, New York. It’s quite clear and quite obvious which woman is better equipped to bring economic opportunity to our region. In addition to her duties in the State Assembly, Woerner is also the general manager of the Saratoga Springs division of MeetMax Conference Software, making her one of the few legislators in this state that is not a full-time professional politician and actually has another occupation. In order to continue with our region’s economic success, it’s very important that we continue to have progressive and forward-thinking individuals in positions of leadership who profess both an extensive background in business and economic development. And there’s nobody better suited to represent us than State Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner (D-Round Lake), who has over three decades of real-world experience in technology business management, including stints at both IBM, as well as Dell/Perot Systems. To a great degree, New York’s 113th Assembly District is a total anomaly and outlier in Upstate New York and the rural Northeastern United States it’s an area that’s experiencing significant population growth and economic success, thanks in large part due to both the booming tourism industry in the Saratoga Springs area and the growing tech economy centered around the GlobalFoundries chip fabrication plant in Malta. In Spring 2017, when workers went on strike at the Momentive chemical plant in Waterford, New York to protest management’s decision to replace hard-working Upstate New York employees with less-expensive labor from elsewhere (many of them Canadians), Assemblywoman Woerner stood with the workers on the picket line.the face of a true public servant who’s looking out for others. Over her past two terms, State Assemblywoman Carrie Woener (D - Saratoga County) has used her extensive background in technology business management to help advocate for economic development and job creation in Upstate New York.
